GoZap Rental & Deposit Policy

Effective Date: 01.10.2026
Company: Gozap Technologies LLC
Service: GoZap power bank rental service

This Rental & Deposit Policy explains how GoZap rentals work, when a rental starts and ends, how deposits are charged and refunded, and what happens if a power bank is not returned, lost, or damaged.

By starting a GoZap rental, you agree to this Rental & Deposit Policy, the GoZap Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and all payment terms shown to you before starting the rental.

1. GoZap Rental Service

GoZap provides portable power bank rentals through self-service GoZap stations.

A user may rent a GoZap power bank from a GoZap station, use it to charge a device, and return it to any available GoZap station in the GoZap network.

GoZap power banks remain the property of GoZap unless GoZap applies a non-return purchase charge under this Policy.

2. How to Start a Rental

You may start a rental by:

  1. scanning the QR code on a GoZap station through the GoZap app; or
  2. using the station screen, if available, to create an account, add a payment method, and start a rental.

Before a rental starts, you may be required to:

  • create or log in to a GoZap account;
  • add a valid payment method;
  • agree to GoZap’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and this Rental & Deposit Policy;
  • authorize GoZap to charge your payment method for rental fees, taxes, deposit, and applicable non-return, loss, or damage charges.

A rental starts when the GoZap system confirms the rental and the station releases a power bank to you.

3. Rental Pricing

Current GoZap rental pricing is:

  • First hour: $2.50
  • Rest of the first day: $2
  • Each additional day: $4
  • Refundable deposit: $5

Taxes and other applicable charges may apply.

The final applicable pricing will be shown before you start a rental. GoZap may update pricing from time to time. Updated pricing applies only to rentals started after the updated pricing is displayed.

4. Refundable Deposit

GoZap charges a $5 refundable deposit before or at the time your rental starts.

This deposit is an actual charge to your payment method. It is not only a temporary authorization hold.

After you return the power bank to a GoZap station and the return is successfully confirmed by the system, GoZap will issue a refund of the $5 deposit to your original payment method, unless the deposit is applied to unpaid rental fees, taxes, loss, damage, non-return charges, fraud prevention, misuse, or other amounts owed under GoZap’s policies.

Depending on your bank, card issuer, and payment processor, it may take additional time for the refunded deposit to appear in your account.

5. Payment Authorization

By starting a GoZap rental, you authorize GoZap and its payment processor to charge your payment method for:

  • rental fees;
  • applicable taxes;
  • the $5 refundable deposit;
  • non-return charges;
  • loss or damage charges;
  • unpaid amounts related to your rental;
  • any other charges disclosed to you before or during the rental.

Your authorization remains valid until all amounts related to your rental are paid in full.

If your payment method is declined, expired, invalid, disputed, or otherwise cannot be charged, you remain responsible for all amounts owed.

GoZap may suspend or restrict your account until unpaid amounts are resolved.

6. When a Rental Ends

Your rental does not end when you stop using the power bank.

Your rental ends only when:

  1. the power bank is inserted into a GoZap station; and
  2. the GoZap system confirms that the return was successful.

Leaving a power bank with restaurant, bar, hotel, mall, event, or venue staff does not end your rental.

Leaving a power bank near a station, outside a station, on a table, at a front desk, with security, or anywhere other than inside an available GoZap station slot does not end your rental.

You remain responsible for the power bank until the return is confirmed by the GoZap system.

7. Returning to Any GoZap Station

You may return a GoZap power bank to any available GoZap station in the GoZap network.

It does not have to be the same station where you started the rental.

If a station is full, unavailable, offline, damaged, or unable to accept returns, you must use another available GoZap station or contact GoZap Support before leaving the power bank anywhere else.

8. Return Confirmation

After inserting the power bank into a GoZap station, wait for confirmation from the station, app, or GoZap system.

If the app still shows an active rental after you believe you returned the power bank, contact GoZap Support immediately.

You should provide:

  • your account phone number or email;
  • rental ID, if available;
  • station location;
  • date and time of return;
  • photos or screenshots, if available.

GoZap will review the issue, but the rental remains active until the return is confirmed or GoZap determines otherwise after review.

9. Non-Return Period

A GoZap power bank must be returned within 7 days after the rental starts.

If the power bank is not returned within 7 days, GoZap may treat the power bank as not returned.

10. Non-Return Purchase Charge

If a power bank is not returned within 7 days, you authorize GoZap to charge your payment method a $30 non-return purchase charge.

This charge may apply in addition to:

  • rental fees;
  • applicable taxes;
  • the $5 deposit;
  • unpaid amounts;
  • loss or damage charges;
  • other amounts owed under GoZap’s policies.

The non-return purchase charge is intended to compensate GoZap for the unreturned power bank and related costs.

Charging a non-return purchase charge does not waive any other rights GoZap may have in cases of fraud, intentional misuse, theft, tampering, repeated abuse, or other violations of GoZap’s policies.

11. Lost Power Bank

If you lose a power bank, contact GoZap Support as soon as possible.

If the power bank is not returned within 7 days, GoZap may charge the $30 non-return purchase charge.

You remain responsible for the rental and the power bank until the issue is resolved.

12. Damaged Power Bank

You must return the power bank in reasonable condition.

You may be responsible for damage caused by:

  • misuse;
  • intentional damage;
  • opening or modifying the power bank;
  • exposing the power bank to water or unsafe heat;
  • dropping, crushing, puncturing, or breaking the power bank;
  • ignoring safety instructions;
  • using the power bank in an unsafe or prohibited manner.

If a power bank is cracked, swollen, leaking, smoking, overheating, physically damaged, or appears unsafe, stop using it immediately and contact GoZap Support.

Do not attempt to open, repair, modify, charge, or continue using a damaged or unsafe power bank.

13. Station Issues

If a station does not release a power bank after your rental is confirmed, do not force the station open.

If a station does not accept your return, do not leave the power bank outside the station or with venue staff.

Contact GoZap Support and provide:

  • station location;
  • date and time of the issue;
  • your account phone number or email;
  • rental ID, if available;
  • photos, videos, or screenshots, if available.

GoZap will review the issue under this Policy and the Refund Policy.

14. Incorrect Charges

If you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact GoZap Support as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • your account phone number or email;
  • rental ID, if available;
  • date and time of the charge;
  • amount charged;
  • station location;
  • screenshots or other supporting information.

GoZap will review billing issues under the GoZap Refund Policy.

Refunds are not automatic and depend on the facts of the rental, payment, return confirmation, and GoZap’s records.

15. Taxes and Other Charges

Rental fees, deposits, non-return charges, and other amounts may be subject to taxes or other applicable charges.

Taxes and applicable charges may vary based on location, transaction type, and applicable law.

Where required, such amounts will be shown before or during the transaction.

16. Payment Processor

GoZap may use third-party payment processors, including Stripe, to process payments and refunds.

GoZap does not store your full card number.

Payment processing is handled by the applicable payment processor according to its own terms, security standards, and privacy practices.

Refund timing may depend on the payment processor, your bank, and your card issuer.

17. Fraud, Abuse, and Misuse

GoZap may suspend or restrict your account, refuse rentals, withhold refunds, or charge applicable amounts if GoZap reasonably believes there is:

  • fraud;
  • payment abuse;
  • repeated chargebacks;
  • intentional non-return;
  • tampering with power banks or stations;
  • misuse of the service;
  • false support claims;
  • violation of GoZap’s Terms or policies.

18. Changes to This Policy

GoZap may update this Rental & Deposit Policy from time to time.

The updated version will be posted in the app or on the GoZap website. Updated terms apply to rentals started after the updated Policy is posted or otherwise made available.
